Midsummer Night's Eve Forest

With blizzards raging in the US and Europe - I took a mental stroll through a forest on a warm Summer evening. That is an advantage to living a virtual life.

Sketchbook 11.27.09

I work a lot on small pieces of paper - anything at hand - then glue them in my sketchbook. I try and start each day with some form of sketch which I usually do not share for it is my process of working. Today - I share for I am working on other projects and felt this would be a good image to finally include.

Santa Monica Mountain Sketch

This is an older image from four years ago that I still like. Its part of a series I did about the Santa Monica Mountains - I may return to this area from a different perspective in some of my new drawings. It is a magical place - far above the Pacific Ocean.

Angels in Hats

I've often wondered what Angels can wear in clothing - the latest model - aged models - new "cutting edge" models with hats or a simple Cloud?

Clouds and Waves at Cape May

One of my favorite places is Cape May New Jersey. This is a memory of being there many years ago in the Fall when the sky was amazing and the waves were high.

21 Hurt Hearts Being Cared For In A Box For Caring

There will be no time for me to post tomorrow so this is Tuesday October 27 posting.

In our sad world of pressures and discords - hearts are damaged. The "Caring Box" with its many "ghost helping hands" makes things right again and allows the world and its inhabitants to move on to happiness and peace.

Ancient Fish Found in Lake Erie

When I was growing up in Cleveland, Ohio - I imagined what it must be like to be an ancient fish in Lake Erie and if it might be possible to ride such an ancient fish underwater to Canada while I held my breath.

Trying To Keep The Last Drop Of Artic Water For The Children

Here is one of the pieces I am showing at The Ryman Foundation Event on October 3 here in Los Angeles, CA. You can check the right side bar on this Blog to access the Ryman site and see all the wonderful work from the exhibition which will be sold to support the work of the Ryman with young - aspiring Artists. It is a wonderful organization and I recommend you read about their work - lots of fine information on their site. I hope you decide to support them with a small (or large) donation or buy a piece of the work that you can see online. They are doing something unique and wonderful for young people and - it is working - these young people are becoming productive and successful Artists.

Flannel Fish Swimming Beneath The Arctic Ice

With the Fire Storms - hopefully in our past - with the onset of the hot Santa Ana winds - the thought of an Icy environment is rather nice. These are Flannel Fish stuffed with savory down - swimming beneath the Arctic Ice Waters on a hot September day.

Station Fire 8.30.09

It is difficult to do any creative work as one sees the devastation of the San Gabriel Mountains by this raging fire storm. There have not been fires in some of the areas in 60 years. The brush is described as being 30 feet high on steep terrain. The Firemen are demonstrating incredible bravery.

Dancer.1

After the opportunity to watch a wonderful experience in Dance for Classroom Teachers in the Pasadena Unified School District, Pasadena, CA facilitated by Lineage Dance Company Dancers - I decided to do a few of my own on paper - but with more exotic costuming. Dance is so wonderful - such an expression of the beauty of the soul and the moment of joy and personal reflection.
